Trinavarta - The Whirlwind Demon
â Bhagavata Purana - Book 10, Chapter 7 â
Dadi: "Guddu, do you remember Sita Mata from Ramayana?"
Guddu: "Yes! Ravana kidnapped her and kept her in Lanka."
Dadi: "Right. But did you know there was one demoness who protected Sita instead of threatening her?"
Guddu: "A demoness who was nice?"
Dadi: "Her name was Trijata. While other demonesses scared Sita day and night, saying Ravana would kill her if she didn't marry him, Trijata was different."
Guddu: "What did she do?"
Dadi: "She comforted Sita and treated her with respect. But the most amazing thing was her prophetic dream!"
Guddu: "A dream that could tell the future?"
Dadi: "One night, Trijata saw everything that would happen. She saw Ravana dressed in black, riding a donkey, his twenty arms cut off. She saw Lanka burning. She saw his sons fleeing on pigs - a symbol of disgrace."
Guddu: "What about the good guys?"
Dadi: "She saw Rama and Lakshmana arriving victorious! She saw Sita reunited with Rama, and the couple shining as brightly as the sun. She even saw Lanka sinking into the sea!"
Guddu: "Did she tell the other demonesses?"
Dadi: "Yes! She gathered them and said, "Stop threatening Sita! I've seen the future. Those who harm her will be destroyed. Those who serve her will be saved.""
Guddu: "Did they listen?"
Dadi: "Some did, some didn't. But Trijata kept protecting Sita throughout the war. Once, when Rama and Lakshmana were knocked unconscious in battle, Ravana took Sita to see them, hoping she'd give up hope."
Guddu: "That's cruel!"
Dadi: "Sita began crying, thinking her husband was dead. But Trijata whispered, "Don't weep! Look - they're bound but not dead. If Rama had truly died, you, as his devoted wife, would have felt it in your heart. You still live, so he lives.""
Guddu: "She was like Sita's secret guardian!"
Dadi: "Exactly. And after the war, when Rama won, he rewarded Trijata richly. She even accompanied Sita back to Ayodhya in the Pushpaka Vimana - the flying chariot!"
Guddu: "So even though she was born a demoness, she chose to be good?"
Dadi: "That's the beautiful lesson, Guddu. It doesn't matter what family you're born into, what community you belong to, or what people expect from you. What matters is your choices. Trijata was surrounded by evil, but she chose kindness. She chose dharma."
Guddu: "Like how Vibhishana also chose Rama over his brother Ravana?"
Dadi: "Perfect connection! Both were demons by birth, divine by choice. Your birth doesn't define you, beta. Your actions do."
Guddu: "So if someone says I can't do something because I'm too young or too small..."
Dadi: "You smile and show them what you're made of! Trijata was the only voice of truth in a kingdom of lies. Be like her - stand for what's right, even when you're the only one."
