Chanakya Discovers Chandragupta
— Chanakya Niti —
Dadi: "Guddu, come sit with me. Tonight I'll tell you about a teacher who found a future king... playing a game with his friends."
Guddu: "A king? Playing games? Was he already a prince, Dadi?"
Dadi: "No, beta. He was just a poor boy named Chandragupta. But the great teacher Chanakya saw something special in him."
Guddu: "How did they meet?"
Dadi: "Chanakya was running through the forest, angry and hurt. A powerful king had thrown him out of the palace and humiliated him. He had made a vow to destroy that king's entire dynasty!"
Guddu: "That's so dramatic! Like a movie villain!"
Dadi: "*chuckles* But Chanakya wasn't the villain, beta. The king was cruel and unjust. Chanakya wanted to bring dharma back to the land. And for that, he needed to find the right person to become a new king."
Guddu: "And he found Chandragupta in the forest?"
Dadi: "Yes! He saw young Chandragupta playing with his friends. The boy was pretending to be a king, holding court, passing judgments. He even "punished" the pretend robbers, then "healed" them with his magic!"
Guddu: "That's a strange game!"
Dadi: "But Chanakya saw genius in it. This boy understood power AND mercy. He had the heart of a true ruler. Chanakya paid the boy's family and took him to the great university of Takshashila."
Guddu: "Like a boarding school?"
Dadi: "Much more intense, Guddu. For seven years, Chanakya trained Chandragupta in everything - fighting, thinking, speaking, planning. He turned a village boy into a warrior, a scholar, and a future emperor."
Guddu: "Did they really defeat that bad king?"
Dadi: "They did. Together, they marched against the powerful Nanda dynasty and won. Chandragupta became the first Mauryan Emperor - one of the greatest in all of Indian history!"
Guddu: "Wow... So Chanakya saw something in a child that nobody else could see?"
Dadi: "Exactly, beta. A great teacher sees potential where others see nothing. And a great student... well, he listens, works hard, and becomes more than anyone imagined possible."
Guddu: "Dadi, do you think I have potential too?"
Dadi: "*smiles warmly* Every child does, Guddu. Every single one. The question is - will you work hard enough to unlock it?"
