Raja Yoga
The path of meditation
đUnderstanding Raja Yoga
Raja Yoga, the "royal path," is the systematic science of mind control through meditation. Codified by the sage Patanjali in the Yoga Sutras, this path provides a step-by-step method for calming the fluctuations of the mind (chitta vritti nirodha) and ultimately achieving samadhiâcomplete absorption in pure consciousness. It is called "royal" because it leads directly to mastery over the mind, which is the king of all our faculties.
